   Found a place near me in downtown Monterey that specializes in ‘2 seafood tacos, with rice and beans on the side’ so I think it’ll be 80% of my meals here now

     I carefully reviewed a taco database created by a coworker who is a fellow taco fiend. It has almost 100 entries from here all the way up to Santa Cruz.

     This spot is second on his overall list, and the first is in Salinas (Tacos Pacheco) so it’ll do just fine.

     @skinnylatte I know it seems unlikely, but if you're ever in the Houston area, check out Habaneros Taco Company in Seabrook Texas. I recommend the fish tacos and the plantain tacos. Charro beans are free with purchase. I don't think you'll find any better tacos anywhere, though perhaps plenty that are as good.

     They also make a spectacular habanero sauce, of course.
