I'm using a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro (13-inch), with Sonoma 14.4.1 currently installed.
Decided to shrink the main partition to the "minimum" size for now, which is not a fast process but it's moving along in the right direction! (Guessing it will take 15 to 20 minutes max) -

Partitioning done. So far, so good! Pretty straightforward instructions. I'm going with the KDE Plasma version.

@jnv The truth is I'm not sure (yet)! The only option presented was resizing existing partitions, so I'm just going with the straightforward options this first time around. I suspect you'd be able to completely wipe the macOS partition with the right commands/tools, although the Recovery partition probably shouldn't be removed.

@killyourfm Way to go! So, is this the only option or can you blow away Mac OS and have only Linux similar to a PC?

Hello from the Fedora side! Everything seems to be working so far. That was relatively easy!

@killyourfm @jnv You need the secondary partition, alas. But you can more or less ignore it once it’s all set up.

Well, this unfortunately needs to be said: this is the hottest my MacBook Pro has ever been. All I'm doing is downloading games via Steam -- which is technically running under x86 emulation, to be fair. But I'm going to guess battery life under Fedora Asaha Remix won't be stellar compared to macOS.

@killyourfm are you on the linux-asahi kernel? Wondering if there's a difference in battery life at all. https://github.com/AsahiLinux/docs/wiki/M1-Series-Feature-Support

@s31bz I'm using the Fedora Asahi Remix that just got released today. I would assume so. Yea, looks like 6.12.1-404.asahi.fc41.aarch64+16k
