     OOXML is literally just the binary format of Microsoft Word converted to XML, including legacy compatibility shims going all the way back to MS Word 1.0.
     
     his rational if I remember is compatibility with Word is all anybody normal cares about.
     
     There's a whole class of people that, instead of wanting to build a good future, want to always just be compatible with bad present.

     @sun @grillchen @kaia @raccoon I'm not in a spot where I can use ODTs when working with others, and LO is kinda sucky. At uni we use Google Docs/Sheets/Slides now
