Auto-deletion is pretty easy with crontab, but of course medical establishments are insane enough to run windows. -

Imagine merely changing the version of windows instead of upgrading to GNU/Linux, which doesn't get ransomware provided you don't run proprietary malware. -

I remember it was huge here in the UK that our National Health Service all ran Windows XP till 2019, only updated after a huge ransomware attack. -
