   Mozilla is removing Do Not Track from Firefox because "nobody was listening".

   I guess we should remove their CEO because they're not listening to customers either?

   You could've just left it in, you could've just left it the fuck alone for those cases where it did work, but you just had to remove it, why? Smells like someone paid you to do it tbh

     @Zergling_man I do in fact care what any browser manufacturer makes because the choices out there are shit, what browser are you on? Wanna bet it's a fork of either Firefox or Chrome?

     @anthropy Firefox isn't free software considering the trademark restrictions, almost-auto-installation of proprietary software that implements digital handcuffs (EME), proprietary plugin recommendations and default silent execution of any proprietary JavaScript a website throws at it.
     
     Although, there is a fixed version called GNU icecat.

     Mozilla leave working and widely used features the fuck alone and don't enshittify the one free browser challenge (im-fucking-possible)

     Definitely not donating to those mongrels anymore, I'd rather donate to stuff like Servo that for now are actually just focused on freedom and usage. I'd rather use a half-functional browser than a fully featured one that doesn't respect me. What the hell does Mozilla think people are using Firefox for? Why do they think people aren't just using chrome?! 😑

     @kaia @anthropy i wanna recommend librewolf so fucking hard but i can't because they refuse to support webcam (and possibly even microphone) use. irritatingly they leave the settings in so you 'think' u can enable them and then screw around with ublock for hours trying to get it to work, but no. they completely remove webcam functionaloty but not the corresponding settings.
     that's like my one bog gripe with librewolf.

     for me that's a feature. I use Chromium for web meetings where I must, since it would not work in plain Firefox either
