     @killyourfm is it really "irrational," or something closer to "based on your accurate memories that computers in that era did what you asked them to better and faster, compared to computers today whose primary purpose is to spy on you, advertise to you, demand shibboleths of you, and expose you to frustrations whose ostensible cure is to pay more money?"

     @keengrasp Heh, perhaps not as irrational as I thought. But I think the spying narrative is best leveled at operating systems, not hardware.

     @killyourfm sure, software is the biggest difference between the experience of computing then and the experience of doing it now. i guess i didn't figure the hardware itself was the main source of your feeling of nostalgia. i do love a CRT though.
