   I think why the government is so obsessed with regulating AI is because they're already using it and know what it can do at scale and are scared to death of it being used against them

     @sun They know how easy it is to create very believable but fake information and want a monopoly of selling the bullshit. I honestly don't know how democracy as we know it can survive if AI realizes its potential.

     @mrsaturday I think democracy and freedom are over except in other places that exist to provide alternatives to here

     No question NSA(and surely others) had it for years before it ever saw the light of day. And when it did see the light of day, it was because they needed to grow the power of the engine by having the general public input queries at far greater volumes than they could do on their own.
