Mitch Conner (olmitch@shitposter.world)'s status on Tuesday, 10-Dec-2024 09:01:50 JST Mitch Conner I had MX Linux installed on this netbook for like half an hour and almost immediately just installing the most basic stuff resulted in missing libraries. I don't understand why Debian is so bad now.
This is why it frustrates me when people make blanket statements about, oh, I tried Linux and it was bad. No, you tried Debian. Yes, Debian is bad now. Ubuntu is also Debian.
I don't have these issues when I use arch-based systems. And thankfully, I'm installing Artix right now and I think it might be the first thing that will actually run on here besides MX Linux and Haiku without totally shitting the bed.-

steeznson (steeznson@glasgow.social)'s status on Tuesday, 10-Dec-2024 09:01:50 JST steeznson @olmitch Would recommend Arch if you cam be bothered with the install process. Or even install Manjaro then disable all their repos and replace them with the Arch omes to skip the manual install. It's definitely the best when it comes to software availability and packaging.
That said, I use gentoo because I'm a huge dork. Wouldn't necessarily recommemd it though.
