   Working theory touched off by this from @GottaLaff, to be taken with numerous grains of salt:

   The SCOTUS right wing (or rather, the people holding their leash) don’t really want a •dictatorship•; they want an •oligarchy•.

   There is a natural tension between Trump, who wants to be boss of everyone and everything, and the richer people who want to keep him under their thumbs.

     @GottaLaff That tension will play out repeatedly in loyalty contests, incl but not limited to SCOTUS. It’s going to get weird, and ugly.

     (Or in glib quip form: Trump and Musk both fancy themselves the Putin of the US, but at most one can be.)

     I believe Laffy is right - I hold similar views. Basically, none of those people have any integrity and will be looking for a chance to stab someone else in the back to improve their own position. No honour among thieves is true.

     I think there are multiple, partially conflicting power groups. Some actually do want to destroy the US, some want to remake it in their own image, some just want to hurt people. They're all sociopathic grifters.
