alcinnz (alcinnz@floss.social)'s status on Monday, 09-Dec-2024 12:25:49 JST alcinnz @garrett The HTML5 spec says you don't need to, but as a novice browser-dev it is my preference for webdevs to close all non-self-closing tags.
Then again in the scheme of things, this is a very minor if visible point.

Garrett (garrett@masto.garrett.life)'s status on Monday, 09-Dec-2024 12:25:50 JST Garrett @alcinnz way back in the early 2000’s when I first started learning HTML, I was taught that p doesn’t need closed, and we didn’t close it.
Ever since then, from 2006 when I graduated HS, everything I’ve seen always says to close your p tags.
I figured for safety reasons you should always close tags that can be closed. But now I’m like …what do I do
