@social please don't shut this service down. We need Mozilla in the Fediverse. There is a great opportunity for Mozilla to shape the path of the social web. I think it's a better social network with Mozilla here. #SaveMozillaSocial
I don't understand what the Mozilla Social Team is. Is it a Mastodon instance hosted by Mozilla, or is it a team with a certain research and development goals and a roadmap?
@evan@social I feel the same way about the BBC ( @BBCRD) , which also seems to have given up on its fediverse experiment. I remember BBC was an active early adopter in Web 2.0, which worked out well for them in the end. Same could apply here.
I just queried #Wikidata how many institutes and universities have Mastodon account, and seems most of them are in Germany (103). We need to thank the @neuSoM effort to convince universities to migrate from Twitter to #Mastodon.
However, I don't find how to query how many institutes hare integrated with the Fediverse beyond Mastodon. For example, the CS department where I studied has a #PeerTube channel (https://pt.dcc.uchile.cl).
