     @phel my favourite is when archlinux-keyring does not update first, so it downloads all the packages and then it all fails because "invalid signature"

     It used to be easy to recover a locked up linux, just switch TTY and fix it. But lately switching TTY does not work when anything bad happens to the system. Somehow it became a lot more homogeneous and when it breaks, it breaks totally

     @piggo @deshipu i vaguely remember systemd folks trying to replace kernel's framebuffer console with userspace one built on top of KMS. And then the kernel folks could ditch the whole framebuffer subsystem...
