   A billionaire was assassinated in New York at 6th Avenue and 54th Street. The shooter was on a bicycle. Both streets have bike lanes. Odds that the billionaire-fellating class calls for a crackdown on bicycling?

   Yes I'm making it about myself. Sorry but I can't really muster much care for the dead guy, who was the head of literally the worst health insurer.

     @jef In the interest of making it about you -- I am reading that the shooter fled on a Citi Bike. Can you even use those without a credit card or app? Seems like an odd choice of a getaway vehicle.

     @jwz @jef The Citibike kiosks have card readers (and presumably cameras). So a stolen credit card and a mask could seem like a low traceability way to go faster than walking. And given NYC traffic, it won't be much slower than a car, and it's way more maneuverable.

     @jwz Yeah, I would have stolen a bike first, just like the ram-raiders steal a van first. I see people saying this looked like a professional hit, to me it seems more like an amateur cosplaying as a pro. Another data point: the subsonic ammo was maybe a good idea but it meant he had to manually cycle the pistol, and after the third shot he fumbled that. Also if he had needed to shoot while on the bike, manual cycling is out. A real pro would have considered and gone with full loads.
