   Definitely grew up in Singapore / Malaysia / Indonesia because I just added a giant scoop of sambal into my bagels

   Also time to repeat myself: do not use rooster brand sambal oelek in Malaysian or Indonesian recipes calling for sambal, you will be very confused (that sambal is way too sour for 95% of our food). Look for ‘Runel’ brand if you can. Sambal terasi, sambal bawang, sambal hijau

     @geraineon Tean’s is really good. Sometimes they sell the packet one as well that you can sautee in a wok or pot and it turns out almost as good as made by some auntie sambal

     The jar one is also good but that’s better
