     My Instagram account was private and completely empty... but friends kept sending me DMs there and it was getting annoying to keep repeating to them "I have IG on a burner phone and check it once every blue moon."

     I only used Threads to promote the Fediverse, but deactivated it post US election.

     I had completely stopped using Twitter when it got sold to that horrid human; permanently deleted the 3 accounts post US election.

     @obrien_kat I deleted my WhatsApp account in Jan 2020 and persuaded all my family (and 90% of my friends) to move our communications to Signal 😅

     @_elena curious if you use WhatsApp? I don’t know how someone could operate in Spain without it. It’s the common way of messaging for social work or even interactions with customer service.

     The post is from Jan 2020 (as you can see from the URL) but a strange bug is dating all my old posts: Jan 16, 2024. Not the case. I quit WhatsApp almost five years ago and never looked back 🤗

     @dans_root best UX/UI in the Fediverse IMHO. I have a curated list of a few accounts I follow and I prefer reading their posts that way…

     and because my Mastodon username starts with an underscore (incompatible with Bridgy Fed), I can bridge my Sharkey account to Bluesky. So I don’t have to use it / can have my real life friends follow my Sharkey account on Bluesky
