@lanodan users of both are often very convinced of being the correct ones and they are also wrong
@lanodan it's not the same because vi vs emacs feels more or less even while in case of big endian and tabs they clearly lost a long time ago :p
@famfo coincidentally every big endian enjoyer i know is also a tabs enjoyer

@lanodan i make fun of it but i still fix people's byte order issues more than usual
i still feel like it actually causes accidental misbehavior more often than it exposes legitimate bugs though
in vast majority of cases integer truncation during serialization would be completely harmless but on BE it breaks
