   Safari "Web Apps" broke middle-click.

   I use "Save to Dock" to create app-like web views for some heavily-used sites. It's great. But as of a week ago or so, Cmd-click now opens in the current window instead of in a new window. This is intolerable. Is there any way to fix it?

   It's definitely a problem with the web-app view itself, not with the underlying web site's JS.

     @jwz whatever it is must be in safari because the behavior is the same between 14.7.1 and 15.1.1 with both my machines showing safari 18.1.1 (but slight differences in the build numbers)

     Weirdly, you can right-click and “open link in new window” and it works as expected…

     @karlcow Cmd-click on e.g. the "1m" link in the upper right of any Mastodon post, in webapp view. It opens in the current window. Context menu / open in new window works.

     @jwz Could you share a bit more details about your initial configuration and the type of links you are clicking on.

     I'm on Safari 18.1.1 (20619.2.8.11.12) for mastodon.cloud in a webapp view in full screen.

     1. If I command + click on links to external resources, aka href="https://…", it opens a new window in my default browser (be Safari or Firefox)

     2. If I command + click on links from the UI, aka href="/…" it opens a new webappview.
