   had a great day working the counter at Hemlock Bazaar today.

   lots of folk coming through to browse and check things out and purchase gifts.

   not so busy as to be unpleasant, but busy enough to never be bored.

     @djsundog I'll actually be up in Ellijay next Friday and Saturday, and taking my partner to see Hemlock is very specifically on the activities list. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch you in there.

     and those customers who happen to notice what we're doing, well, dang sure they always buy a book or two. sometimes a record. had one such person today offer just to give us a tip, just so he could support our efforts without us having to pay our suppliers out of it.

     people can be really sweet. it makes it easier for me to try and be really sweet, too.

     it counts. it matters. we can do this.

     and every day I work, there is always at least one person who comes to the counter just to tell me how awesome it is that we have a radical little bookstore going in Ellijay, and they always deliver it such hushed, amazed tones, as if saying it too loud will clue in the rest of the patrons to the fact that we're chock full of socialist and communist literature amongst the best sellers and the manga and the nature books.

     it's really super cute and heartwarming. it's nice to have folk notice the intent with which books are selected and the joy we take in offering them to the local community.

     highly recommend letting your friend give you a job working the counter at a radical bookstore if you get the opportunity. it's really a joy for me. I'm a lucky dog.

     @roadriverrail you absolutely will not! More folk in town know me as Sundog than they do by the name on my driver's license. Probably 2-to-1 if I had to guess :)
