Question: During the Presentation of Mary, did she know what would eventually have to happen to Jesus?

@Spingebill I like "Mary Did You Know" for this reason even though it pisses off some trads.
> :Ackshually: OF COURSE SHE KNEW YOU IDIOT!
Maybe. One thing for certain, she knew to trust in The Lord fully. Whether all of that was revealed by God's angels or the prophet and prophetess who saw her or through Jesus Himself prior to his ministry is a mystery. Absolute faith and trust in The Lord was unquestionably present in Mary.
>Luke 1:38 And Mary said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word." And the angel departed from her.

@Spingebill Unless you're referring to the Protoevangelium of James, in which case I cannot say or know.

@nugger @Spingebill I don't recall. I know Joseph's staff sprouted flowers which is why He was chosen for Mary, and that he was said to be a widower with previous children in this extremely early (1XX AD) source. This is deep Orthodox lore that I should reread.

@BowsacNoodle @Spingebill IT DOESN'T SAY IF SHE KNOWS IN THE PROTOEVANGELIUM OF JAMES,
IT'S JUST JOACHIM AND ANNA ARE OLD AND CHILDLESS AND THEIR NEIGHBORS THINK THEY MUST BE SINNERS BC KIDS ARE A BLESSING, MIRACULOUS CONCEPTION, THEY PRESENT HER TO THE TEMPLE AND SHES JUST HAPPY TO LIVE IN THE TEMPLE WITH THE OTHER WIDOWS/DEDICATED VIRGINS

@nugger @Spingebill When I first learned of it I searched for the proto evangelion of James and was disappointed there were no robots.
