@mjdigspigs I mean, I'm sure places have a truck full of frozen birds at 79c/lb - but usually those are "you have to spend $X to get it at this price" no?
@sickburnbro I saw some dumb commercial the other day for Turkey at 79 cents a pound. Like that's a bargain. I guess if your guests don't use napkins or plates an no decorations and 1 potato a piece you could make it work.
@RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare@mjdigspigs yeah, it's better to have a smaller turkey that is actually fresh and isn't full of injected whatever in order to increase the weight.
@sickburnbro i do love that they're just straight up lying at this point, even when they've been rejected, rebuked, proven to be lying dickhead asshole propagandists, they still persist
and whats better is they're going to ramp up their bullshit once trump is in office, they are going to go full on and its going to force people at ground level to get even more insane, i cannot wait
@dictatordave@sickburnbro Just watch as we get honest inflation numbers once oranjmin is in office so that they can blame all the surprise inflation on him.
@MeanwhileInOhio I'm not going to say it's a *bad* turkey, but there are all kinds of tricks that get done to increase the weight of the turkey after slaughter:
Kroger sent me a coupon for a turkey at 49c/lb with $25 purchase, and it takes nothing to purchase $25 at the grocery. My turkey is almost 20 lbs and cost me $9.78. They're good turkeys too, I've been eating them for years.
@Evil_Bender@Mustard88 it felt like they had totally gone for maximum market sales rather than quality. It's nice to see they at least still have someone that knows how to actually smoke things.
