     Depends on what you mean exactly with credits. A CREDITS file or similar can be removed, thank you comments can be removed.

     The Copyright notice on the other hand, no. And many projects don’t update it to list people who are copyright holders.

     @Zodiac1978 @rianrietveld @skc But removing credits from a project is not allowed under the GPL. I think they did that here.

     Also, Automattic will be in count here in NL on the 27th, in a case against a supplier of nulled plugins. But now they do it themselves?

     @roytanck those one can always delete, no legal obligation to keep them. Would be considered very unkind … but that is a differnt matter. What is improtant is the copyright header in the files.

     @amszmidt @Zodiac1978 @rianrietveld @skc I think the readme.txt file is the closest equivalent, since it points to the license's URL. For ACF Pro, it says 'Contributors: elliotcondon'. SCF has 'Contributors: wordpressdotorg'.
