   @Cassandra I really hate the kind of racism that exists in Québec. Instead of listening and learning, they get so defensive.

   I grew up in a city where 99% of people were white and Catholic. Of course I grew up with privileges and racist ideas about "others". It's almost impossible not to.

   It's not a failing of your character when you grew up like that. However, you are failing when you don't want to learn and unlearn.

     It seems to me that if your reaction to hearing that racism exists

     is to scream "HOW DARE YOU, I’M NOT RACIST"

     instead of listening and learning and trying to cause less harm

     then you are in fact racist.
