    @RuthMalan This essay was anonymously posted in a pastebin so long ago it got slashdotted back when that meant something. The original has long since gone down, but I mirrored a copy. It's about the loss of institutional memory:

      This moment we’re at, in history is just so … weird. Like, people we work with in tech voted to speed civilization’s wrecking ball… To catastrophically collapse our various institutions and the protections we’ve eeked out to make progress towards equity. But also, even without that, we work on systems that add up to a whole lot of near term grief in the form of speeding off climate cliffs… and other grief escalators.
