   @djlink@mastodon.gamedev.place No, it's not a placebo. This is happening on all streaming platforms. They are reducing their bitrate to save money on bandwith.

     maybe it's placebo effect, but it feels like most 1080p videos on youtube look way worse now than they used to. And I wonder if that's anything to do with the "1080p high bitrate premium" they sell now
