because french spelling is a nightmare and korean pronunciation is hell. people complain about mandarin but that is lowkey one of the easiest languages to learn in this regard. a lot easier than english too but i might be german brained idk

@sun once every blue moon i get back to it.. i should dedicate more time to it tho.
i was watching a movie with subtitles recently and while the accent was very different i was surprised how much knowledge came back over the course of watching it.
i was almost failing english courses in school and after mere weeks of watching english/american movies and shows i was fluent enough to never care about grades in english again.
like im nowhere near native speaker tier but im fluent enough to shitpost and chat.

@lucy this was a bunch of boomer chinese that immigrated to the USA though Canada. I really liked it, like is typical all the Chinese people sat at their own tables during lunch and they welcomed me to their tables and let me try to communicate.
