     @thorne He doesn't have an iPod; it's a jailbroken iPhone running some very alarming firmware. Otherwise, spot-on (except by 2015 he's pushing 40, burned-out and cynical).

     @cstross oh wow. Just got a stunning visual of New Management Era Bob for the first time in [so many] books:
     Gen-x nerdy in that kind of Goth-aware-but-not-goth manner that I fear most of us gravitate to. A bit bedraggled, as though resisting the New Management is making life hard; except he *always* looked this way.
     His iPod in a world of smartphones seems odd *before* you notice the green glow leaking out of every seam.
     Shoulders hunched, gaze piercing but studiedly indifferent, he has Noticed you noticing him.
