   @eris the things that bluesky are adding won't work or aren't enforceable on the tiny subset of their network that is actually decentralized. but it won't matter because people don't care about decentralization. if people don't care about decentralization then they don't care about the main value proposition of the fediverse, which is also the thing that makes the stuff they want impossible here. so people are better off on bluesky than fedi, fedi will continue to lose users and people will continue to migrate to bluesky while stepping right over fediverse as an option.

     @J @eris the fediverse architecture is ecplicitly political, it has values and it has assumptions about human behavior and I think that none of it is relevant in the present and mastodon revived the network right before it probably should have died. I live here and I am happy here but it is because old people don't adapt they just do the same thing until eventually they all die out, that is actually how things change

     @sun @eris Honestly I've never seen decentralization work as advertised anyway so it's probably fine. The benefits are always more or less entirely theoretical and it just ends up sucking for a different reason than the mainstream sites.

     @sun @eris I am here bc Twitter is still just tight enough that I still get shadowbanned a lot without knowing what I did wrong, and I like PleromaFE, and there are a few people here who I've known since my early 20's without presences anywhere else that I don't want to just disappear for the rest of my life.

     @J @eris getting banned or shadowbanned is so repugnant to me that I will tolerate almost any insane decentralized system that prevents people from just completely kicking me off the network. fediblock is a bunch of pricks but all they can do is block me, they can't make my server stop working
