   I've got a decent spare CPU air cooler from a previous machine that would work fine on modern CPUs, it just needs a 95p adapter kit. But I can't find them anywhere except places that charge £30+ for delivery 🤦♂️

     I hate just chucking perfectly good stuff away, that’s why I have a huge stockpile of electronic junk that is worthless up to precisely 3 seconds after I dispose of it, at which point a perfect use for it emerges

     £30 for delivery? Do they ship from Australia?
     What adapter is it specifically?
     I could check if a German shop has it, shipping shouldn't be *that* expensive from here

     Ha, I'm using that kit with a Brocken2 (that I previously used on my old Haswell CPU) in my secondary PC (with Ryzen 2700X) :)

     Do you only need the screws or also that plate?
     The version with the plate is not available anywhere (https://geizhals.eu/alpenfoehn-brocken-montagekit-fuer-amd-am4-84000000147-a1624293.html), just the screws are available at one seller for 6.14EUR (https://geizhals.de/alpenfoehn-am4-am5-upgrade-kit-brocken-serie-84000000215-a3107642.html).

     Do you have Brocken2 or Brocken3?

     @sinbad I think we all have that tendency, but I've reached the point where the two most valuable assets i have are time and space.

     If keeping something wastes either of those then it goes in the bin. Yes, I keep some spares but I recently counted 34 hdmi cables in my spares box. That's a whole box just made up of redundant cables

     @ahchay yeah I have a couple of boxes and once I can’t fit anything else in them the oldest stuff goes in the bin. But it’s usually then that someone says “my X has broken” and I think “oh hey I have a spare one of those!” Except that I don’t anymore
