   Bluesky as a supposed "safe haven" from X has to be the quintessential example of the old adage: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." And a lot of people are being fooled twice.

     But it seems bsky has solutions for some problems repeatedly reported (even by you): moderation, tools to organise a feed, "all replies visible".

     @klausfiend @lauren I don't distrust that they're still out there, but I seem to have curated my experience very well not to see them in significant proportions. We should be making it easier for newcomers to do the same.

     @lauren In fairness to hundreds of thousands of folks ... Mastodon is not an easy transition. There are lots of folks here who are incredibly hostile to the insufficiently nerdy, and there is too much gatekeeping in the Fediverse.

     @lauren I think it depends on what you want in a social network. I love this site because it does what I thought the Internet was for: connect people with similar interests and allow them to converse and learn from each other. It doesn't help people who want to make money out of their time online or become famous. Those people need to look elsewhere.
