There is of course a lot of buzz around bsky at the moment, much of it positive. I am tempted, I'll be honest, but I remain highly skeptical.
I don't trust VC in any capacity, and when you take the VC money, eventually you will do the VC's bidding, irrespective of what values you *say you hold. Material analysis says that the material interests will dictate terms.
What I'm ultimately saying is that if you ever got *any utility out of Xitter, for professional or personal reasons, you might be comfortable on bsky. People who are fleeing Xitter *now, in 2024, clearly have found themselves a refuge from Elon's racist passion project.
But if you hated Xitter before, you will eventually hate bsky too, I am confident in that if little else.
