I do have sympathy for kids that are going to have their lives disrupted by being pulled out of their school. It's not as if they have any power over anything.
They're also unlikely to be at the truly 'elite' schools either. The rich won't be affected that much, I doubt any school will shut down either.
The nordic idea of no private schools would be better. Of course the rich would just send their kids abroad.
@shiawase I don't believe the fact that it's not the top elite schools matters that much to me. The extremely rich will always be able to do what they please, and it's difficult to legislate against that. But the fact that reasonably well off people are able to send their children to public schools is (IMO) extremely damaging to society. So yes, if we could just close them all down tomorrow it'd be deliriously happy, but in the meantime making them less affordable is a good first step in my book.
