I might give GIMP another try from 3.0, since I hear layer effects are *finally* non-destructive. Whenever I’ve tried to use it in the past, beyond just generally disliking the UX which maybe I could get used to in time, the destructive effects system made it basically useless to me. Non-destructive layer effects have been the norm for decades elsewhere after all

Whereas non-destructive means the effect can be turned on/off at the click of a button!
