     @Paul I unstalled it in an isolated shelter profile with no access to my contacts. No idea if this works.

     @morph I resisted WhatsApp for years. I finally admitted defeat a few months ago. I still try to limit my use of it though.

     Last week I "recommended" to switch school communication from WhatsApp to Signal. I have been "very clear" (I am a Data Protection Officer) and now they all use Signal.

     Next will be the local Sports Club.

     @tpheine Considering to put it on an old phone without SIM card but DECT number and use it on the desktop only. Maybe that'll be an option.

     Well, actually DSGVO is very clear with the use of WA for official usage like in clubs, schools and so on.

     However, I still have to highly recommend that you shouldn't use it. But it's like it is now, so please use appropriate precautions with separate profiles and/or the new privacy vault feature of Android 15. And keep in mind, that this only makes it a little less worse.

     The idea is good, but I fear that the old phone can't block everything like sensors, location and stuff. If you have a newer phone, the so called work profile would do the same trick.
