Depends on how much I believe in the report I guess. Being able to spot hints is definitively better than what some random stranger says.

How do cis folks recognize a transphobe coffee shop? I mean, they don't put signs up, do they?

Shit guys question it, and refuse to accept it, the decent guys say "ok, I'll make sure you never have to be around them again".
A shit ally says "I'll have to figure that out for myself", a decent ally says "I believe you"

Rocketman (slothrop@chaos.social)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 06:34:52 JST Rocketman @Saupreiss @Melissabeartrix To me, it’s far more simple than all that.
A friend of mine is big-time into cars. A pro. When I tell him about that sound my car makes, and he says to take it to the shop, I’ll believe him. Because he knows what he’s talking about.
When a trans person tells me that someone is being an asshole, I’ll believe them. They’re having to deal with assholes all day, every day. They know what they’re talking about.
This strategy has never failed me.

Saupreiss #Präparat500 (saupreiss@pfalz.social)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 06:34:53 JST Saupreiss #Präparat500 True - then again, being trans doesn't make a person more trustworthy per se than anyone else, so I would probably take that as an opinion.
Don't get me wrong. Beyond the tolerance paradox, I prefer NOT to hang out with anyone where hate is actually worth anything.
