“I suddenly heard her scream: “Mom! Mom!” At the same time, I heard a single shot. The bullet came in through the window, broke the glass and went straight into my sister’s heart. She managed to walk to the bedroom door and then fell on the floor. I think she was killed on the spot.” - Bana’s sister

While settlers threw stones and attempted arson, soldiers fired live rounds at residents who gathered to defend the village.
The military remained in the village after the settlers left, leading to clashes with local youths.
