     @NZedAUS I do not agree. I think we have a moral imperative to work harder to reach the red states.

     Too, "populous and strongly progressive," but how much sillly-con vally money end up in GOP coffers?

     I don't believe we have any moral imperative at all.
     They've made their positions clear.

     As to whether secession would be a practical option, I don't know (though overall I suspect it isn’t). If it were, at this point I'd be all for it.

     I assume anyone voting for a nazi rapist traitor is not getting enough adequate information. I assume education and engagement are key. I assume the most virulent prejudices can be melted through shared experience, and I come to this opinion through work as an activist and meetings with people who in fact evolved past their former limitations.

     But I feel ya, I do.

     @phaedral what moral imperative...California has probably more in common with the democracies of Western Europe, Asia & Australasia than it does with the 'Red States'.

     That's fair, and I'll disagree peacefully (broadly: I don’t believe sufficient are redeemable, or worth the investment to redeem). Thank you for the perspective, though (seriously).

     I commend you on your work bringing others past their limitations.
