akkoma flavored lizzy (fleckenstein@lizzy.rs alt) (lizzy@social.vlhl.dev)'s status on Tuesday, 12-Nov-2024 06:12:54 JST akkoma flavored lizzy (fleckenstein@lizzy.rs alt) @Hyolobrika well incivility is subjective. some people may perceive the things you say as not civil, similarly some things you find not okay may not be a problem for others
ultimately you have to either find a community that largely shares your views or you have to find a compromise between protection from hostility and your personal freedom. at least on fedi you have a choice unlike on corpo platforms or just society in general -

Hyolobrika (hyolobrika@social.fbxl.net)'s status on Tuesday, 12-Nov-2024 07:30:55 JST Hyolobrika Online moderation (incl various forms of defederation) is good and all, but there's too much rule of whim and not enough due process.
Some things that might help:
- logging moderation actions and notifying those sanctioned (already done in many cases but not in enough)
- allowing appeal
- maybe a full-blown jury system if it's worth the effort
Communities can pick and choose from these depending on their resources.
One thing one could do might be to make a list of forums/spaces that rates them on these qualities.
