a little while ago, i posted that LGBTQI need a LAVENDER BOOK, just like Black folks had a Green Book during the Jim Crow era.

i want to make this a reality if it doesnt exist yet. if it does, i’d like to be involved and help.

the Green Book wasn't just a travelogue. it really was an organizing tool, for making visible the literal path of liberation across the neoconfederacy.

we need to work on building networks of resilience more than ever.

Attached: 1 image i keep saying this: trans folks need a LAVENDER BOOK. https://retro.social/@DoctorDeathray/113268288017644554 during Jim Crow, the lives of African Americans traveling across the South depended on the GREEN BOOK, a travel guide that became the Black Michelin of its time. the Green Book, btw, should stand as the perfect example of antifascist and mutual aid praxis where fascism is normalize against minority, non-hegemonic groups. #LGBTQI #travel #antifa

@blogdiva Not to let my inner cynic run rampant, but I can't help but think that if a Lavender Book were issued today, it would get co-opted by corporate interests who wanted to do some reputation laundering, and to have another avenue of advertising to a CAPTIVE (emphasis added) audience.

It's a great idea, though. I'm just more paranoid than usual these days.
