I also don't entirely put the blame on Harris, I don't think it accurately represents how campaigns work, and not fair to her

    Respnsible? Yes, Root problem? No

The common denominator between these failures is the overpaid political consultants, political operatives, and donors who take on leadership roles within the party

These people are causing us to lose, not voters. And if we identify these people and can counter their blame of the voter, then we can potentially solve this problem

@ekis The same people seem to also be advising Labour in my country (NZ)...

Which is especially bad because they don't appear to understand the local context!

I see a lot of similarities in these elections...

@alcinnz Yeah, I have been following the UK election as much as I can. And Labour has screwed over the base and seemingly did a mass give-away to shady "AI" companies

My view of it is obviously very skewed, and inaccurate. If you had time to share some of the parallels you are seeing, I would love to learn more about it. And fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge

And it could be interesting for others reading the thread

@ekis After Jacinda Ardern stepped down, one Chris Hipkins took her place distancing himself from her popular policies. Whilst their opposition is working to give the impression that she wasn't popular. Quite a rightwing PM for NZ's standards.

So when the election rolled around we had our choice of Prime Minister, as long as his name was Chris. The numbers are quite clear: People voted for anyone but Hipkins, or they didn't vote.

@ekis So now when most of the votes went towards the left-wing parties, National (Chris Luxon) refused to form a coalition with them. So we got the rightwing National/NZ1st/Act government.

We didn't pay attention to how racist their campaigns were, & sure enough their policies are outright racist! Whilst standing in the way of climate action & tearing down the government.

Now I'm worried Labour's not getting ahead of predictable controversy over tax policies...
