Billionaires are openly building doomsday bunkers

    Have you considered:

Billionaires may have already given up on stopping climate change

Their actions suggests, their priority for using their obscene wealth is to simply be on-top; when the ecosystem collapses

@GhostOnTheHalfShell Well, to be fair to them (lol), I think the bunkers they are building are not like a fallout shelter or traditional bunker for taking shelter during aerial raids

Bunker is definitely the wrong word, they are building more like an "Arcology" from Sim City 2000

"Arcologies are futuristic self-contained cities in one building" - Sim City 200 Manual

I feel so fucking absurd saying this, but like Fallout, a vault to live in long term

      Still stupid for additional reasons

They didn’t give up they’re simply preparing for the consequences of their deliberate plan.

The shelters are an absurdity because climate change isn’t an event. It’s a transformation of state. There will be nothing to a emerge from for many thousands of years

@delProfundo But what could we have done sooner?

I personally find it difficult to talk about anything related to ecosystem collapse because people will just shut down (expressed in a variety of ways)

So starting sooner seems like it would have been an impossibility

And consider how intensely hard they have gone after "eco-terrorists" (real eco-terrorists are billionaires)

Everyone who has challenged the second law of thermodynamics has lost. And we are about to engage in the largest scale challenge mankind is ever undertaken.

Nature may seemed about last, but nature is always met the challenge of the second law of thermodynamics.

@ekis Ah those "secret" billionaire hideaways!

Like the Doomstay Bunker in Kansas, 1325 Gold Rd #5, Glasco, KS 67445. A Cold War missile silo built in the early 1960s at a cost of $15 million. One of 72 "hardened" silo structures meant to withstand a nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Bought for $300,000 in 2008 by ex-government contractor Larry Hall. Now a 15-story subterranean bolt-hole where up to 75 individuals can survive a maximum of five years.

      It's right here. 👇

      • Duke

@DukeDuke I'm not exactly sure about the transition part, but the rest, in my opinion, is very unfortunately likely to be accurate

As with many other aspects of this problem, its very difficult to predict, so while I say I'm, not sure about a transition, I'm not ruling out the possibility

Wonder the sentiment "I'm old, I'm not going to experience" is behind this behavior. But I think having more examples certainly shines light on what motivates them, and its not the well-being of all peoples

@ekis and "on top" while hiding isn't on top. I think of the "doomsday bunkers" in Hawaii, and it's like yeah, during eco-collapse you're StUCK there. And your kids and grandkids possibly as well.

You don't have to summarize it, I can do that, but perhaps tell us what made you think of that, is it something you wrote?

      @ekis @GhostOnTheHalfShell

      How to put it nicely.

Nobody yet has managed to produce a self-contained ecosystem hermetically sealed, especially not one capable of supporting humans.

Long term space exploration literally hangs on this, so this has been researched.

So #Naziboy managed to build a rocket to fly to Mars. There his crew gets fried by the radiation, and as mentioned, they need their groceries regularly delivered from Mother Earth.
