    I wrote this back in March. Thinking about the massive collection of data we've put out there, helping billionaires to make money and for them to use that data against us.

    Where did that data get sold to?

    Data protection law in the US is very Opt out. You should be worried. To be honest everyone in the world should consider the US "A country of concern" when it comes to data protection.

      @econads @onepict "Safe Harbor" protection, which has been challenged in court and finds seriously wanting.

      On the other hand, EU citizens don't have access to a bunch of AI solutions, despite user privacy being an utmost concern to the same companies in the USA 🤔

      @onepict they do: until recently saving data in the US from Europe was a data protection issue - our DPO would not let us use services from US. Now there is some treaty that allows us to force the US company to exercise the same protective that we have, or something.
