Need to think about why the working class has turned to Trump. I don’t think IT professionals living in the Bay Area or other fancy cities, making $150,000+ a year, are part of the working class.

It is for and by average or below-average people with lower incomes and less education. Also elections cannot be guaranteed to produce the most efficient and beneficial outcomes. I am very surprised that it has survived and is run by the richest countries, even though many other political systems have failed.

MortSinyx (cnx@awkward.place)'s status on Thursday, 07-Nov-2024 14:02:52 JST MortSinyx @seungjin, political systems survives by satisfying the majority (or rather, not driving them to desperation) so they don't overthrow the ruling class. Humen are social animals, driven by their, for the lack of a better word, moral system, e.g. fairness, care, loyalty, authority, etc. These are evolutionary traits and don't necessarily reflect what is required for societies of the current scale (which only exists for some thousand years) to thrive or survive. Improvements in the overall life quality thanks to advancements are only a side effect of a long lasting civilization IMHO.
