     @lain What I got from it was understanding religions function as the "imperial altar" to extend/consolidate empires, understanding that civs can stay stable in decayed form for centuries, knowing about the barbarians initial spark as a starting point of the cycle, and overall just realizing that these cycles are huge and extend far beyond the single life of any of us, and that there's nothing much we can do about these natural processes as Children of the Winter™
