     Those people should have been working in the Latin communities helping us get out the vote.
     I guess they aren't smart enough to understand that they are going to be deported.

     @palin@mastodon.social I've heard it called, "Pulling the welcome mat in behind you," in Miami. Especially recent immigrants are coming from authoritarian nations with strong-man leaders. That's what they're used to.
     
     They don't get democracy, or the tradition of Enlightenment Liberalism. It's all venal misogyny and anti-Black racism.

     @RiBurton @notroot @palin Close. I had a friend from Hong Kong explain she was Republican because of what the communists did in China. Similar "reasoning" applies to Cubans, etc.

     @notroot @palin Thats exactly what I said in this mornings post. Could it be that the Republicans are right. We've let in too many immigrants that come from countries that all they know is autocratic rule and are not comfortable with democracy? Just a thought.
