I'm going to repeat, I think the progressives busting their emergency alarm on muh abortion and it not saving their bacon is by far the biggest thing to come from this.

Their hope was that when Texas banned it they could hyperventilate people into voting for muh bortion because trump was gonna ban it nationwide .. and white women still voted for cheeto.

@sickburnbro alot of people learned what they mean by "abortion"

late-term/partial birth abortions are beyond the pale of most people

spoke with a guy a couple of months ago who was a life-long democrat. he said he went to the county democratic party meeting and they explained that partial-birth was their new policy.

the guy was floored. he said to them, "what are you saying? i can pull my gun out right now and blow your head off and it's murder. what you're pushing is the exact same, you're just quibbling about the timing."

he voted trump in a deep blue county, which as of last night, is no longer deep blue

@pirin04 there are a lot of people that have been willing to play the "I'll define my own X" where X is abortion, immigration, holocaust .. but when the point comes where the definition is crucial ..

@sickburnbro Too many knew Trump was pro-abortion, and it's up to the states now, regardless. There is nothing Trump (or Harris) could do about it - and nothing was getting past a Senate filibuster.

The big win was Florida NOT passing the abortion measure - so they did not strike down the heartbeat bill, which Trump called "Terrible."

@PopulistRight again, a lot of people are stupid. This isn't a purity test. You either want to have less babies die or you want to lose while looking holier than thou.

The simple fact is that the DNC tried to paint Trump as willing to ban abortion nationwide, and it wasn't enough to get even a plurality of white women to vote for them.

@PopulistRight rather, a plurality voted against them, even.
