I've seen some disturbing posts.
"White people did this.
Women did this.
Men did this.
Black men did this.
Muslims did this.
Christians did this."
I have a request. Just, don't. Don't do the right's work for them.
The people who voted for Trump did this. Demonizing other people is what did this. The demographics don't really matter.
The only way we can push back is to stay together. Don't be a part of the hate. Don't be the enemy. It's the only way forward.

@FallonStone I agree that sexism and racism are the primary culprits here. I will go so far as to say I think misogyny is the biggest problem, because it cuts across race and culture and affects more people. But not all men are misogynists; and some women have internalized it. Not all whites are racist; and some POC have internalized it. Call out the bias where it is, absolutely. But I don't want people to respond with more of the same. Because that's the knee-jerk, and we MUST get over that.

@Nichelle I agree, we shouldn't demonize but if we truly want to save our democracy and protect human rights and ourselves it is worthwhile to consider what happened here. This wasn't a win because his policies were better, or he's stunningly charming. Trump won because a lot of Americans recoiled from having. A black woman president. The sexism and racism in our country is deep and focusing on demographics is the first way some people are grappling with what they hoped would be impossible.

Misogyny is also a thing.
This electorate accepted a black MAN, twice.
This electorate rejected a qualified white woman. And rejected an even more qualified black woman. What is the Venn diagram here?
Is racism involved? Yes. Is misogyny involved? double yes. You cannot convince me otherwise. You talk about flipping the white vote. Agreed. What if we flipped the male vote?

@Nichelle sure. Except. It is in fact white people. Flip the white vote and Harris wins by miles.
White supremacy did this. Period. This is white supremacy. Whether it's white supremacist oligarchs here or in Russia or white supremacists at MAGA rallies the problem is the white supremacy.
Now, that white supremacy has turned into fascism but it's still white supremacy.
It's our nation's original sin. It MUST be stopped or this will happen again.
