@duncan_bayne I'm performing some tests with Peertube at BSD Cafe - it seems to be a very good and complete solution. I like it!

Ouch, Vimeo has bumped their prices from ~ USD100.00 to ~ USD132.00 per year.

I don't do a lot with Vimeo - mostly just sharing videos with friends and family, many unlisted. So it feels like something I could fairly safely move self-hosted.

PeerTube has fixed https://github.com/Chocobozzz/PeerTube/issues/944 and https://github.com/Chocobozzz/PeerTube/issues/3218 which means it's theoretically a suitable replacement for Vimeo for my purposes. I already self-host a Web server, Gemini capsule, and Jitsi Meet instance, so adding my own PeerTube instance wouldn't be _too_ much additional faff.

Question is, is there something simpler I could be doing?

By default we federate unlisted videos. This setting can be changed by admins in the peertube configuration. I think it would be safer to change the default behaviour so PeerTube does not federate ...
