     @susankayequinn @KamalaHarrisWin Vice President Harris is not a little girl in need of governmental protection to get to her school safely. She is a competent, successful, powerful member of her era and society. I get the historical nod here, but it also feels like it infantilizes Ms. Harris, however unintentionally.

     @susankayequinn Could be. I'm certain it's not intentional. But it's bugged me every time I've seen it.

     Too, it reminds me too darned much of the "Episode One" poster.

     @phaedral this is *definitely* a YOU thing--first, the shadow in the Ep1 poster is a prediction of the future not a callback to the past (like the Harris poster) & the Harris poster is a positive illustration not a menacing one like Star Wars. It's literally got nothing in common except the visual use of a shadow, which TONS of other artists have used as a literary technique.

     It's also weird to say a callback to Ruby Bridges is "infantalizing" given the insane courage of that little girl.
