     The entire summer Newsom was up for recall, there wasn't a single power shutoff.
     
     It's very obvious it's political, and intended to force people to get solar (don't get me started on the insane legal issues I've seen regarding Solar contracts / installers). It's not worth it yet.
     
     Even worse, there's no private right of action. The courts have decided that the Public Utilities Comission has sole jurisdiction.

     Try selling your house if you have a solar system. I've seen companies drag their feet signing assignments, only to hold up and kill escrows..
     
     Leaky roofs are common too.
     
     Warranties that have no backing and aren't with the paper they're written on.
     
     And systems that can't be turned on due to various installer issues. Most contracts don't even require the installer to turn it on, yet homeowners get stuck with the payments to the lender.

     lol I have a neighbor who‘s panels have been up for six months and still can’t get the power company to do the final hook up.

     No, it's a scam, and the state knows it.
     
     In fact, there's some lawsuits by state AGs in Michigan, Kentucky, and Tennessee regarding many issues surrounding the industry and particularly the lender's predatory behavior.
     
     I was surprised that Keith Ellison brought suit in MI. Some lender must have pissed off some rich DNC insiders.
     
     Kentucky and Tennessee are par for the course though. Protect the public.

     I had a feeling. When we bought our home, the hubs let someone give him the sales pitch. I was against it. The salesman oversold it and shot himself in the foot.
