   Actually, it would be better to apply liquid silicone.
   If you have an aerosol can with the skinny red tube, give it a short blast and then wipe off the excess.

     I hadn't been using my Platinum Curidas fountain pen a lot, because the trap door gets stuck and sometimes doesn't close. Someone just advised me to apply silicone grease on the trap door hinge with a toothpick. I'm trying to see how I can do it without glopping silicone grease all over. The idea is attractive to me because the Platinum EF nib I have in this pen is very nice.
